As Australia’s only specialist eye, ear, nose and throat hospital, the Eye and Ear has been providing care for the senses for over 160 years. The Eye and Ear has almost 90 different outpatient clinics for the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of vision and hearing loss and provides a 24-hour emergency eye and ear, nose and throat service. Every year the Eye and Ear cares for nearly 200,000 patients, with over 136,000 outpatients, over 42,000 emergency patients and over 14,000 inpatients. About Role
Ocular Oncology Clinical Nurse Consultant

Employment Type:Part time
Role Purpose: As an Ocular Oncology Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will ensure a smooth patient journey within our ocular oncology service. You will guide patients through their treatment, support care planning and coordination, and collaborate with internal and external team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support the ocular oncology patient journey.
- Provide clinical resources and advisory support to the multidisciplinary team.
- Act as a point of contact for patients, coordinating care with the specialist team and other service providers.
- Develop supportive care and survivorship care frameworks.
- Collaborate with the nursing education team to provide ocular oncology education.
- Contribute to health assessments, patient education, and support.
- Participate in quality improvement and research activities.
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to hospital policies.
- Provide clinical leadership and promote the ocular oncology service.
- Attendance, contribute and follow up to csae discussions at the E+E Ocular Oncology Service Multidisciplinary team meetings
Qualifications and Experience:
- Essential:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in oncology nursing.
- Ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team and deliver coordinated care for complex patients.
- Desirable:
- Masters in nursing or a related field.
- Membership with relevant professional bodies (e.g., CNSA, AONA).
- Experience in quality improvement activities or research.
