2027 Graduate RN Program
Applications are invited from final year BN and MNSc. students who are interested in undertaking our 2027 Graduate Registered Nurse Program.
The 12‑month program offers a strong foundation for future career development, with supported rotational opportunities to build clinical and leadership skills under the guidance of preceptors, Clinical support nurses, Nursing Education team and the Graduate Nurse Program Coordinator.
The Graduate Registered Nurse (RN) Program comprises of two streams:

Employment is part‑time (0.8 EFT, four x 8 hours shifts per week) The program comprises three four‑month clinical rotations across the areas detailed below, excluding the Perioperative Suite.

Perioperative Stream
|
Employment is Fulltime (1.0 EFT, four x 10-hour shifts per week)
This is a 12‑month program incorporating clinical rotations in anaesthetics, scrub/scout, and the Post‑Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) within the Perioperative Suite. |
In addition, the program offers:
- A comprehensive 4- or 5-day orientation program on commencement- depending on the stream applied for
- 4 full study days scheduled throughout the year.
- Clinical support from preceptors, Clinical support Nurses and Clinical Nurse Educators
The program is scheduled to commence on Monday 8th February 2027.
Applications open on Monday 1st June 2026 and close on Wednesday 1st July 2026- in line with PMCV key dates.

All applicants are required to register with the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) - Computer Matching Service and select The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital as one of their six preferences.
In addition, applicants are required to submit an application directly to the hospital through the career’s website, including:
- A cover letter addressed to Sonja Lavery- Graduate Nurse Program Coordinator, stipulating which rotation the applicant is applying for
- A current resume, including three clinical referees and three recent clinical placement reports.
- A copy of your academic record.
Applicants who are successful in progressing to interview will be contacted via email and invited to attend a face‑to‑face interview, commencing after the week of 13 July 2026.
