Casual Instrument Technician
We are seeking two Instrument Technicians to join our Sterile Processing Services (SPS) team on a casual basis.
The Instrument Technician is a vital support role responsible for providing a high-quality service through the cleaning, disinfection, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilisation of reusable medical devices. This position works under the direct supervision of the SPS department and contributes to ensuring safe patient care through adherence to best practice standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III and IV in Sterilising Services (required)
- Minimum 12 months' experience in a Sterile Processing Services environment
- Ability to work across all areas of SPS, including:
- Decontamination
- Assembly and Packing
- Sterilisation
- Experience using instrument tracking system
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of AS 5369:2023
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
