Casual Clerk – Surgical Services
The Surgical Services Division at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is seeking dynamic and customer‑focused individuals to join our Casual Clerical Pool.
Required shifts are generally rostered during business hours, Monday to Friday. Please note that the Inpatient Ward also rosters clerical staff on Saturday mornings, as well as Monday–Friday after‑hours shifts from 4:30pm to 8:30pm.
Clerks play a key role across the Surgical Services departments, providing essential support to managers, nursing staff, and patients across Preadmission, Admissions & Recovery, Theatre and Inpatient Ward Reception. All departments care for both paediatric and adult patients undergoing ophthalmic or ENT procedures and treatments. Periodic overtime may be required to support departmental operations and ensure positive outcomes for patients, carers, and staff.
The successful applicants will demonstrate:
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Confident IT skills and the ability to navigate clinical and administrative systems
- A strong understanding of high‑quality customer service and front‑of‑house support
- A positive, flexible, and patient‑focused approach to teamwork
