Emergency Management Coordinator
About the Role
In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the Eye and Ear is ready to respond confidently to emergency codes. You’ll design, coordinate and continuously improve emergency management systems, lead emergency responses during business hours, and deliver training to ensure organisational preparedness and resilience.
Working closely with clinical leaders, a wide range of hospital staff and external stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in protecting our people, patients and visitors.
What you’ll do
- Lead the implementation of the hospital’s Emergency Management Framework across all sites
- Act as the Emergency Coordinator during weekday business hours
- Coordinate emergency planning, response codes, drills and post-incident reviews
- Deliver engaging training and exercises for managers, staff and volunteers
- Ensure alignment with business continuity, accreditation standards and relevant legislation
- Provide expert advice on emergency preparedness
- Prepare reports for executive and governance committees
- Build strong relationships across the Parkville Local Health Service Network and emergency services
About You
You’re a confident emergency management professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys influencing continuous improvement. You bring:
- Proven experience in emergency management, ideally within a healthcare or complex operational setting
- Strong knowledge of emergency planning, response, recovery and relevant legislation
- Experience developing and delivering training programs and exercises
- Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused and continuous improvement approach
Tertiary qualifications in Emergency Management, OHS, or a related field are desirable, as is experience with training and assessment.
