About the Role
Grade 2 Operational Pharmacist – Dispensary (Full time, 40 hours/week with RDO)
We are seeking an experienced pharmacist to contribute to our pharmacy team as the Operational Pharmacist in our Specialist Dispensary. This role offers the chance to develop organisational, clinical and interpersonal skills in a newly redeveloped state-of-the-art specialist hospital.
This position is responsible for the provision of high-quality dispensary services at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. Key responsibilities include dispensing of specialised medicines, provision of medicines information and patient education, assisting in supervision of aseptic manufacturing, and maintaining a safe and efficient pharmacy dispensary service in line with best practices, hospital polices and legal requirements. This position also contributes to quality improvements in the dispensary area.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Registration as Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia with no restrictions
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience in an Australian setting
- Interest in developing skills in ophthalmology and ENT
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Prior experience using Merlin dispensing software is highly desirable, but not essential
