Quality and Safety Coordinator
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality and Safety Coordinator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for those with a strong interest in clinical governance, patient safety, and continuous improvement to contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality care within a specialised public hospital.
About the Role
The Quality and Safety Coordinator reports to the Manager, Quality and Safety and plays a key role in supporting the hospital’s clinical governance framework and promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and patient-centred care. You will work closely with staff across all levels and areas of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incident reporting systems, investigations, and follow-up actions
- Support accreditation processes and compliance with national safety and quality health service standards
- Analyse and report on clinical indicators, risks, and trends
- Facilitate policy development, review, and document control
- Promote consumer engagement and ensure feedback informs service improvement
- Provide education and support to staff on quality and safety processes
- Assist in ensuring that the hospital adheres to all relevant healthcare regulations, legislative compliance requirements, accreditation standards, and quality benchmarks set by governing bodies
About You
You will demonstrate:
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Experience in quality and safety systems or clinical governance
- Knowledge of healthcare accreditation standards
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment
- High level of organisation, discretion, and attention to detail
- Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in SharePoint, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, File management, and email management
